Last year the art studio at the Laingholm garden had some floating steps added to it to extend the area to make art,hangout and access the studio. The surrounding planting and its growth over summer has nestled the renovation into the landscape. Loving observing this nestling process.

Another gorgeous visit to Velda’s garden. I will now be the caretaker of the beautiful king fern she gifted me. I loved my morning drinking coffee and wandering through the beautiful native NZ garden of Te Kāinga Mārire.

Had such a great time spent helping Velda prune her apple trees and talk native plants through her extraordinary garden. She has created this over fifty years from a clay bank. Now home to many native birds insects and wildlife.

Spring visit to the Kohimarama garden. We had Mack the king of the garden with us 🐶. Hedged, mulched, pruned & fertilised. Ready for the hot days and summer drinks under the kōwhai tree.

Maintenance on the Waiheke garden took place over the weekend. Planted with native hardy plants that have some pleasing textual contrast happening now that they have grown into their zones. Was lots of weeding, mulching and trimming the curvy shrubs. Now ready for summer times to be had in this lovely holiday home.

Little garden bed at the Kingsland project featuring a stone pathway to the hose and a Forest pansy tree. The tree will provide dappled light in the summer, and let light in to the windows during winter. Planted with lots of purple and pink colours. Irises and dahlia will pop through soon with this sunny weather ahead. Swipe for where it started. 🌱

The side of the house needed a bit of life added to it. The Boston ivy will help cool down the area over high summer. Low maintenance planting of Westringia low horizon, Carex bronze and Boston ivy self clinging to the wall. Seems to be all happy a year on from it being installed with very little effort. It’s an easy care garden for this holiday home.

The art studio terraced deck has been underplanted with low native ferns. Hopefully once they’ve grown, they will give the deck a floating effect.🤞🏼
